My family fell to the recent marketing campaign by Volkswagen. Now when we're out and about we like to look for the cars and call out Red one, or Silver one, or Rusty one! I realize that traditionally the Slug Bug only applied to the Beetle but it's a good marketing pitch on their part to generalize it. One day as we were driving along I found out that Bird and boys had agreed to a no-hitting rule. It turns out they kept catching the bone in Bird's shoulder which hurt both their hands and Bird's shoulder.
Well, no f'ing way am I going to abide by that rule. So I call out Black one! and tap Bird in the arm gently. To which I get a "Hey! No hitting." Whatever...after 3 or 4 of these Bird is looking around desperately to find a car. Each time she finds one the slap on my thigh gets a little heavier.
She tagged me pretty good once and I distinctly remember my reaction was to immediately scan the area for another car. This made me laugh and I pointed out my observation to Bird moments before I spotted another vehicle and...Yellow one! I saw her head swing left then right and then she had to laugh herself realizing what had just happened.
One day Bird had enough when I called out White one! with the accompanying love tap. She cried out, "No fair, I can't see when I'm driving!"
