It was the night before we left on our vacation to Kansas/Missouri and I found my eldest awake reading in his bed. I told him to get to bed early before our road trip because I didn't want the rest of the family to be ready to leave and have him still in bed. He was apparently very excited because he set the alarm on his phone (It's really my old phone and has no service, but he has adopted it as his own). The boys were actually up and ready to go and Bird and I were still in bed. Unbelievable I know, but true.
The 1st morning after arriving in Kansas we awoke at 6am to a musical alarm which Bird tracked down to Justin's cell phone. It was turned off and we went back to bed promptly forgetting about it. The 2nd morning his phone alarm was found at 6am upstairs in the living room by Richard, who was getting up at his usual time to take a bike ride. He thought he'd shut it off, but Bird found it going off again at 6:30am. After stopping it she came down and I heard, "Joe."
I vaguely recognized my name and woke into a dazed stupor. Bird continued, "When you wake up can you shut off this alarm permanently?" It took me a moment but soon I snatched the phone from her hand while in my head I thought quietly [When I wake up...you woke me up to ask me to do something when I wake up...WTF!?]. From the look on her face my thoughts were visible on my face. Her voice was soothing and apologetic as she thanked me. I disabled the alarm and put the phone down and tried to return to my beautiful vacation slumber, but the damage was already done.
I'm claiming this one evens us up - Wife: 3 Husband: 3
